Corporate retreats are trending, and organizations are looking for ways to incorporate wellness while providing a memorable experience. At Tikchik Narrows Lodge in Bristol Bay, Alaska, employees can enjoy the great outdoors while adding teambuilding activities to their daily agenda.
Meals are included in the stay and feature Pacific Northwest cuisine with an Alaska flair. In addition to mountain and wilderness views, the dining room serves locally caught Alaska king crab, halibut, and a selection of fresh Alaskan fish and shellfish accompanied by salads, herbs, and vegetables straight from the lodge’s greenhouse.
Nestled at the end of a peninsula dividing two pristine lakes, Tikchik Narrows Lodge offers seven lakeshore duplex guest cabins overlooking Nuyukuk Lake and the Kilbuck mountains of Bristol Bay to the west. Each room has large picture windows looking out to the lake and mountains, and each day, Tikchik staff stock the rooms with ice and snacks. Guests arrive at this remote destination by privately-chartered floatplane. Corporate groups can rent out the entire lodge giving employees a private and customizable experience.
Teambuilding is part of the day-to-day activities, focusing beyond the boardroom. Guests have the option to spend their days fly fishing for five different species of salmon and seven species of freshwater fish. Daytrips also include boat tours on the lake to Mirror Bay to see snowfields and green peaks; wildlife viewing at Brooks Falls, where brown bears gather to find fish; flight-seeing tours for expansive views of tundra and emerald blue water; and kayak excursions spent on Lake Chiuminuk, a wilderness lake inside the 1.6 million-acre Wood-Tikchik State Park.
